I just love the whole experience of trunk or treat. I love it almost as much as I loved trick or treating growing up. The experience growing up was very different than what my girls have now. My crafty mom made every one of my Halloween costumes and they were brilliant (how could they not be, I was She-Ra one year!). I can hardly sew a button… Hence my girls costumes are typically shopped for by a dear friend (this year I ventured to purchase them from Amazon).
Also growing up we walked for MILES to get candy and it was so much fun. I also remember going in to people’s homes and getting homemade popcorn balls, etc. Such a fun night always.
Trunk or treat is different for my girls, but we love it (because honestly the thought of going around to strangers homes for candy makes me sick to my stomach, same feeling I get when I go to a potluck). Our amazing church puts on the best trunk or treat and I look forward to it all year long.
This year, the girls were Thing 1 and Thing 2. I also dressed up as Cat in the Hat. There had probably been 20 years between my dressing up for Halloween and I can honestly say that I will totally do it again next year.
The only problem with the Littles as Thing 1 and Thing 2 is that they acted like Thing 1 and Thing 2!
