Thankful: Don’t Eat the Dog’s Food

This week’s set of thankful posts are centered around phrases that I say now that I’m a mom, that I’d never imagined I’d say. Hope you enjoy!

Today I’m thankful for the ability to say “Bug, don’t eat the dog’s food”.  Why my child is (actually was-thankfully!) obsessed with making a bee line to the dog’s food is beyond my comprehension.  It can’t taste good, but several times, we spent a few tense moments planing the “look kid, I’m bigger than you and will pry your mouth open to get that dog food out of your mouth” game.

I am thankful for the opportunity to tell my toddler not to eat the dog food, because it means that she has a mind of her own, strong personality, and most of all I’m thankful that I care enough about her to not want her to eat the dog food.

[Disclaimer – there were no children harmed in the making of this blog]
